DYI: How to decorate a coffee mug!

I hope you have all had a spectacular Thanksgiving! I am going to show you how to decorate a mug! They are a great, creative gift that can be personalized to anyone! It doesn't hurt that they are also extraordinarily cheap, fun, and easy to play around with!!

You will need:

1.)A mug (I have used white and cream colored)
2.)A Permanent Sharpie Marker ( colored works!)
3.)A normal pencil

The first step is to, of course, decide what you want to draw or write! The fun part is designing exactly what you want and how you want it! If you are like me, and have a limited (translation: none at all ;) ) creative streak, you can just write a poem or quote in your prettiest handwriting! Then you put your plan into action by taking the pencil and drawing what you want on the cup! It is a good thing to start with that because if you mess-up, don't like how it looks, or just change your mind you can just wash it off with some water! :)

Secondly, draw over the pencil marks with your permanent marker (it's ok if you want to go off them a little bit, the pencil will come off even after it has baked!)...just don't drink any coffee before...or you could get Super shaky!!! :)

Lastly, bake the mug in the oven at  350 degrees for half an hour, that will help it become more permanent! Cool it until you are able to hold with your bare hands before you get it wet, otherwise it may crack! Last little tip: don't put through the dishwasher, because it will wash away your marker bit by bit. Hand-wash your mug instead - although you can redo the process, the marks will never come all the way out, and look much better if you leave them be! :)

I hope you enjoy making these for your friends and family, but don't to forget to make one for yourself too!
Have an amazing rest of the day! :)
God Bless,
